Founded in 1999, Odyssey Dance Theatre Ltd (ODT), one of Asia Pacific’s foremost full-time professional contemporary dance companies, is a strong advocate of local original dance works and has represented Singapore as cultural ambassador in festivals, conferences, arts market and cultural exchanges. Over the years, the company has made more than 38 international tours to 28 cities in 17 countries across the Asia Pacific, Europe and USA.
In addition to its pursuit of excellence in contemporary dance, ODT’s illustrious records have demonstrated their passion and determination in engaging global audiences through distinctive initiatives by its 3 divisions – ODT International, Arts4youths and ODT Cares, supported by its performing arm - ODT Main and Young Companies with a team of Associate Artists.
ODT International has aspired to be the leader in the arts management business, with high standards of international arts management and extensive range of services to our associates and clients.
ODT International has presented some of the region’s emerging and most prolific companies, choreographers and artistes. With associates in America, Australia, Europe and Asia, ODT International delivers an array of international capabilities including the management & touring of artistes, dance companies; development and operation of biennial dance festivals; consulting, advisory and event management work for artistes, arts institutions and corporations & production of dance projects. Its two major dance festivals include Xposition ‘O’ Contemporary Dance Fiesta (www.xposition-o.com) which was incepted in 2001, while DanzINC - International Dancers & Choreographers’ Residency Festival had its founding in 2004.
ODT International has created many milestones such as presenting the first Singapore dance festival on tour (Xposition ‘O’ Contemporary Dance Fiesta 2011) in Singapore and Seoul. This festival had expanded its tour to 6 cities in Asia and Europe in Year 2013. Most recently, ODT International produced and directed Nanyang Polytechnic’s dance musical - “Viva” with 400 performers at the Esplanade Theatre for two nights to critical acclaim.
