Founding Of ODT

ODYSSEY DANCE THEATRE was founded in June 1999 by Mr. Danny Tan, MFA (Artistic Director / Choreographer), to provide a new creative voice in dance.

A full-time professional contemporary dance theatre, ODT has been kept on the fast-track journey to excellence in contemporary dance exploration. The aptly named ODT has astounded local and international audiences on a number of accounts while the vision and ambition of the works is paired to the utmost commitment to professionalism and innovation.


Dedicated to bringing Asia's brightest young professional dancers to contribute to the cultural health of Singapore, ODT has celebrated the region’s talent without being tied to portraits of nationalism.

ODT has been described by many as an establishing and prolific dance company, with vibrant and inspiring works that have access to both stillness and technical dynamics.

In November 2001, ODT was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee while it received its charity status in December 2002.
